The names we chose to carry

We carry the makers we'd put in our own homes — Japanese engineering, Swiss ceramics, British stone composites, and American cabinets and baths built to order.

About Decorative Plumbing

The jewelry of the room

Fixtures are the smallest part of a bathroom budget and the part your hands are on every day. Finish, feel, and the valve behind the wall all decide whether a room works — long after the tile has stopped being a decision.

What We Carry

01

Faucets & Fittings

Kitchen and bath faucets, shower systems, tub fillers, and pot fillers — in finishes from polished chrome and brushed nickel to unlacquered brass, matte black, and warm bronze.

02

Sinks & Basins

Fireclay, stainless, composite, copper, and stone — undermount, farmhouse, vessel, and integrated, in configurations for kitchens, baths, and bars.

03

Tubs & Showers

Freestanding, drop-in, and alcove tubs, including air and soaking systems, alongside shower valves, heads, and complete systems.

04

Toilets, Vanities & Accessories

Ceramics, bidet seats, medicine cabinets, lighted mirrors, towel warmers, drains, and the hardware that finishes the room.

What to Consider

01

The Valve Behind the Wall

Shower trim and the valve it mounts to are matched by manufacturer. Choosing trim without confirming the valve — or replacing trim on an existing valve — is where most bathroom projects go wrong.

02

Finish, and Living With It

Polished finishes show water spots; brushed hides them. Unlacquered brass is meant to patina and will. Matte black shows limescale in hard water. All four are correct choices, but each behaves differently in daily use.

03

Mixing Metals

Faucet, cabinet hardware, lighting, and mirror frames don't have to match, but they should be deliberate. Two warm metals or a warm and a cool read as designed; three unrelated finishes read as accidental.

04

Flow Rates & Compliance

California sets maximum flow rates for faucets and showerheads. Every fixture we sell meets them — worth knowing, because a high-flow fixture bought out of state may not be installable here.

Finishes, configurations, valve requirements, and available options vary by manufacturer and collection.

Style & Function

Chosen to be used every day

High-quality kitchen and bathroom fixtures do more than meet a functional requirement. The fine details finish a bathroom into a spa and turn a kitchen into a place someone actually wants to cook in.

Finishes

Chrome to unlacquered brass

Polished chrome, brushed and satin nickel, matte black, warm bronze, gold, and living finishes that develop character with use — with most ranges offered across several, so the fixture suits the room rather than the other way round.

Style

Traditional through minimal

Cross handles and exposed thermostatics, or wall-mounted spouts and concealed valves. The same manufacturer often spans both, so a style choice doesn't have to mean a quality compromise.

The Whole Room

Specified together

Faucet, sink, tub filler, shower system, drain, mirror, and towel warmer chosen in a session — coordinated for finish, and checked against the cabinetry and hardware you've already selected.

Replacing shower trim on an existing valve? Bring a photo of what's there — we'll tell you what fits before you buy anything.

In the MÀVIO Showroom

The same faucet, set into a full room

Our San Jose MÀVIO showroom sets fixtures into complete bath vignettes — unlacquered brass against stone, a wall-mounted spout over a floating vanity — so you can judge a finish in person before you choose.

We asked them to quote on a hardwood floor installation. Although I am reasonably experienced with home projects, this was outside of my comfort zone. To make sure, we asked them to come to the house, measure the area correctly and make sure there is a plan for the project. The estimate was about 10k and we accepted. Well, they forgot to charge for the glue - add $850. Oh, the preexisting tiles are sitting in 2" of mortar. That happens sometimes, they said. They could have looked at the subfloor easily to see that, but they did not ... add $4k for additional demo work and new raised subfloor. And the flooring of the house is not even so we have to put transitions in; I was able to persuade them to raise the new subfloor and level things off after a bunch of discussions on how this was too much work, but it required a lengthy discussion. Well, next was that they miscalculated the area ... need to add more hardwood floor material and installation charge ... add $1.7k. And when it came to installing the last transitions to the adjacent rooms, I was told that the material they ordered would not work and they did not have time to get other items and finish it (they said I should finish it myself). Along they way they nicked into my walls many times and left a bunch of black marks. Yes, they offered to repaint, but I kind of lost confidence and considered what may go wrong when their floor installer who does not have time to do his main job would start painting my walls. The small discount they offered me did not make things right. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience ...
